Non-invasive Cosmetic Procedure
As we age our skin loses hyaluronic acid and its elasticity, leading to wrinkles and loss of volume. Dermal fillers are an effective treatment for reducing wrinkles, providing volume, smoothing the contours of the face and defining the lips, enhancing the natural you and giving you back a more youthful appearance.
The treatment consists of injecting a biodegradable gel beneath the skin's surface, which integrates into the dermal tissue adding volume and lift to smooth out the wrinkles and folds. As the gel is biodegradable it eventually disappears without leaving any trace in the body. Results can be seen immediately following treatment and will last six months or longer.
Each treatment takes about 30 minutes. When treating wrinkles, pain relief is not usually needed but can be given if necessary. Immediately after the injection the treated area can be slightly swollen and red but generally this will subside within a day or two. The advantage of the non-permanency of this type of cosmetic filler is that, as the concept of ideal beauty is always changing, one can reconsider future treatments. Most patients choose to have top-up treatment within a year, to maintain the effect.
